The Professional Standards for BC Educators is an important document to the teaching profession. It details how we, as teachers, should behave and the responsibility that comes with the role of being an educator. Teachers are role models both at work and in the community and we need to be able to recognize that important role that we play as well as recognize that we must work with the parents and guardians of our students, the diverse communities around us, including the indigenous communities that we work with . As well we have a professional responsibility to our students to be the best educators that we can and to help them obtain the proper education that they need, recognize that we will need to diversify our education for those who need it, and put our ego aside to fulfil our obligations as educators.
